This is an original Wajima lacquerware pendant created by Shioyasu Urushi Studio.

The pendant is made of wood and finished with traditional Wajima lacquer, polished using the roiro technique to achieve a deep, lustrous sheen. The cord is a hand-braided pure silk kumihimo, sourced from a skilled artisan in Saitama.

Lightweight, glossy, and smooth to the touch, it is comfortable to wear. It makes a beautiful accessory for outings and is also well suited as a thoughtful gift.

The color known as “urumi” is written in kanji as　妹　(younger sister), composed of the character for “woman” and the character for vermilion. It is read as “utsukushii,” meaning “beautiful.”
