Each of the four sides features a different design representing the four seasons—spring, summer, autumn, and winter—allowing the piece to be rotated 90 degrees and displayed according to the season.
In addition, both the top and underside are finished with nashiji gold, giving the piece an even more elegant and luxurious appearance.
The fire chamber (hoya) and the inner insert are made of solid silver and are removable.
This is a Wajima-lacquer incense burner, crafted exclusively by our workshop.
The undercoating and middle coating were executed by artisan Masahiko Sakamoto, the final lacquer coating by artisan Akira Kosaka, and the maki-e decoration by master maki-e artist Yoshihiro Ohata.
The form is a simple square.
Dimensions: width and depth 6.5 cm; height 6.3 cm (excluding the hoya).
The piece is delivered in a dedicated paulownia-wood presentation box.
